North of Stop 3, the L&PS winds through a picturesque area of marsh and small lakes.

The flag stop shelter beside the north overpass.

Looking South East - Southdale Road in the forground and Pond Mills Rd in the distance are carried over the L&PS tracks on a pair of simple wooden bridges. Today, both bridges have been replaced with level crossings, however the rest of the pond mills area is essentially unchanged having been preserved as a nature conservation area.

Looking North toward Stop 3. These ponds, known to geologists as kettle ponds, were formed in the depression left by large chunks of ice that embedded in the earth when the last ice age retreated from this area.
