Mile 15.6: Hotel Talbot
This is the second of three hotels on this spot beside the L&PS tracks.. The first hotel, a brick and wood structure called the Hotel Elgin and later renamed the Arlington was destroyed by fire in 1914. A new hotel was soon erected by the owner, J.P Conley. Named the Hotel Talbot, it is shown here about 1922. Unfortunately, it suffered the same fate as its predecessor on November 25, 1951 and was replaced with a third structure, the St. Thomas Inn. That structure stands on the site today.
